Geoffrey Proud has written and produced over 300 hours of documentary programming for cable networks such as A&E, History, National Geographic, Investigation Discovery, Food Network, Travel Channel, Animal Planet and others.  


He was the co-creator, Executive Producer and head writer of A&E Television’s acclaimed travel/true-crime documentary series, “City Confidential.”  Narrated by Oscar-winning actor, Paul Winfield, The New York Times called City Confidential “ingenious and intriguing” and Entertainment Weekly called it “a guilty pleasure.”  Original episodes of the series ran for 12 seasons on A&E and it was one of the network’s highest-rated original series.


Proud also served as Executive Producer and head writer of Oxygen Television’s “Snapped,” which the New York Times credited as having “an instrumental role in recasting women’s television away from its celebrations of victimhood.”  


He is currently Executive Producer, Writer, and Director of Investigation Discovery’s hit true-crime drama “Murder Comes to Town,” as well as writer, director, and narrator of ID’s “Murder by Numbers.”


His first novel “Black Snow” has just been published.
